Has been a private equity specialist since 1990. Mr. OConnor raised capital for startups ranging from DRTV holdings, a full service informercial company. In the role of executive producer he has worked with QVC, HSN direct and Schulberg Meeting Works.  On March 1st, 1999, Mr. OConnor entered the Oil & Gas industry when he acquired bank foreclosures Bank One in Midland Odessa Texas at $9.33 a barrel. Mr. OConnor was named CEO of coastal resources where he owned and oversaw 400 wells under management. In 1996 He joined Jay Penske to form VSI  and was responsible for raising the first 2 private rounds of funding. Mr. OConnor served on the board with Mr. Penske and Steve Wozniak.

After leaving VSI, Mr. OConnor worked as a real estate developer when he developed numerous properties in the Coachella Valley. He was later named as CEO of Coachella Brands Inc. It's Mr. OConnor’s diverse background in startups and private equity that makes him uniquely qualified to lead the team at Smart Capital Holdings.

Jason Stone, widely recognized as the Millionaire Mentor, is a leading entrepreneur, investor, and social media strategist with over 10 million followers worldwide. With a background in mechanical engineering, Jason has built and successfully exited multiple businesses, establishing himself as an authority in wealth-building, business innovation, and financial markets.

With over 20 years of trading experience and five years as an algorithmic trader and developer, Jason specializes in developing algorithmic trading strategies for the financial markets. He is the founder of Treadstone, a high-performance engineering firm operating for over 25 years, and Millionaire Mentor Inc., which has been empowering entrepreneurs for the past 10 years.

Beyond mentorship and trading, Jason is also an active investor in businesses, providing capital and strategic guidance to help companies scale and achieve long-term success. His Millionaire Mentor brand has become a trusted resource for aspiring entrepreneurs, offering actionable insights, mentorship, and strategies to accelerate financial growth.

ANALYST & TEAM LEADER

Matthew Peck is an algorithmic trader and developer with five years of experience building advanced trading bots and strategies for platforms like TradingView and MQL4. As a $700K prop-funded trader for three years, he currently has $1.4 million under management for Smart Capital.

With eight years in trading and a Master’s Degree in Digital Marketing, Matthew also owns a successful full-service marketing agency. His 33 years of martial arts instill discipline and strategy in all his pursuits. A devoted husband and father of four, he balances family life with his passion for business, trading, and innovation.

VICE PRESIDENT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Shawn Cady began his career as an underwater welder for Exxon and Shell Oil off the coast of Valdez, Alaska, before founding and selling Advanced Arc, an underground pipeline company, in 1988. He then launched Pacific Clean Room & Supply, constructing cleanrooms for tech giants like Intel and IBM, and sold the company in 1995. After a brief retirement, Shawn joined Reichmann Petroleum, marking a pivotal shift into the energy sector. He later opened and sold a series of jewelry stores and founded a trucking company in 2019. Now, as he winds down his career, Shawn is focused on his work with Smart Capital. He and his wife reside in Texas.

INTERN

Integral role in supporting market research, analyzing data, and tracking portfolio performance. Collaborates closely with the team on due diligence efforts for potential investments and contribute to the preparation of key reports. With a strong passion for financial markets and a sharp analytical approach, Trey is developing expertise in hedge fund strategies, risk management, and investor relations, adding valuable insights to our ongoing operations.

VP SHAREHOLDER RELATIONS

Grew up in North Carolina.  He attended college to study the Arts and Mechanical Drafting at N.C., in conjunction with taking guitar lessons and entertaining.  He moved to Los Angeles in 1986 to pursue a music career where he became the lead singer in a band. The band signed a development deal with Giant records and performed regularly on the Sunset Strip.  Separate from the band Lauric scored and co-wrote songs for major motion pictures. In 1991 Lauric began a career in the movie industry focused on prop making and special effects.  In 2018 he began trading BTC and ETH, having heard about crypto currency and blockchains, understanding the freedom and potential this new currency had to offer.  Lauric would decide to leave his 30 year career to become a full time trader in crypto, gold and Forex.

A seasoned leader with deep expertise in technology, sales, and marketing. With experience at industry giants like Apple, Beautycounter, and Jafra Cosmetics, Camilo has consistently delivered successful product launches, data and Artificial Intelligence programs, and business transformations. Certified as a PMP and Scrum Master, he has led cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and significant revenue growth. Camilo is known for his strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and ability to execute complex, high-value projects. Fluent in three languages, he is a collaborative leader who builds high-performing teams and fosters innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
